Hi! I’m Mercedes, a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I’m so glad you are here!

Mercedes is a Maine-based virtual therapist, specializing in treating women in recovery, those navigating difficult life transitions, and those who feel overwhelmed by their emotions or unsure how to move forward.
By her colleagues and clients, Mercedes is described as personable, positive, trustworthy, and easy to talk to. In therapy sessions, she weaves grounded support and compassion with gentle, directive challenge- creating a space where her clients feel seen, understood, and supported in creating meaningful, lasting change.

Therapeutic Approach

Mercedes takes a warm, collaborative approach to therapy and believes that feeling safe, understood, and supported is the foundation for meaningful change. Many of the people she works with are navigating anxiety or depression, reexamining their relationship with substances, or moving through life transitions that feel overwhelming, confusing, or isolating. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward, Mercedes offers a supportive space where you don’t have to figure it out alone.

In her work with clients, Mercedes takes time to understand what they’re experiencing, what may be getting in the way, and what matters most to them. Her style is strengths-based and solution-focused, and she often draws from CBT and DBT to provide practical tools for managing emotions, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, and building steadiness in day-to-day life. She aims to balance compassion with gentle challenge, always working at a pace that feels supportive and realistic.

For Mercedes, therapy is about helping clients reconnect with their strengths, build confidence, and create changes that feel meaningful and sustainable- not just in session, but in everyday life.
